LOVE is a Choice

LOVE is more than a feeling. LOVE is a state of being, a choice, a verb and, when chosen, a very powerful force on your Journey.

When you choose to love someone, you love them even when you don’t necessarily like them from time to time. Love transcends moods, circumstances or money. The choice you make to love someone unconditionally is one of the highest choices you can ever make.

If you make your intention to enter into relationships with the mindset “How may I serve” and “How can I grow”, instead of “what can I get”, that intention will reveal to you so many wonderful things.

The promise of loving someone isn’t that they will stay with you for the rest of your life; the promise of loving someone is that you will learn so much about yourself. Many times we have to go through a lot of different relationships to understand what we really want and who we really are. It is through the pain of relationships ending that we truly learn about ourselves and why we make the choices we do.

It is only by wholeheartedly loving the people we choose to be in relationship with that we can see how deep and real the relationship is. If you’re in a relationship with someone who doesn’t enjoy you being in your power, then the lesson isn’t that they are a jerk; ask yourself why you chose to be with someone like that.

It is only by loving deeply that we can live meaningfully and learn about ourselves. Don’t live to avoid the pain of heartbreak. Instead live with your heart wide open and let yourself learn the lessons love is trying to teach you. If you don’t learn the lesson, you’ll just keep attracting the same person in different shoes.

But if you learn the lessons, do the work, and keep your heart open – each relationship will get better and better until you finally find someone that you really gel with – you will find your life partner.

So, today, live openly. Learn the lessons from relationships of the past. Keep your heart open and know that each time it breaks, it’s not getting weaker, it’s actually getting stronger and wiser.

Finally, don’t seek out the perfect lover. Don’t chase love. There is nothing and no one to chase. Spend your time being a person who is worthy of being loved and love will be yours in the perfect time.

Learn the lessons. Stop the chase. Open up. Get busy being love-able and all love-able things will flow to you. This is the promise of LOVE!

Welcome Your Summer Soltice

This is summer’s height, midsummer, the longest day and the shortest night of the earth’s solar year. Here we celebrate the completion of the cycle that began at the winter solstice. In the midst of the longest day of the year, we simultaneously begin our return to the dark half of the year.
Solstice means “standing of the sun” and we can connect to this great turning point in the earth’s yearly cycle by taking a moment to stop, be still and look back at our own unique journey since the winter solstice. From now to the winter solstice everything in earth will be withdrawing within.

I challenge everyone to use this time to focus on what you wish to nurture and develop in yourselves during the coming months. The summer solstice is a doorway into the second half of the year, energizing the paths that lead within.

Stand on the threshold and ask yourself what you wish to encourage in your life!

Summer solstice is a time for celebrating the fertility of the earth. Stimulate your own creative juices, like exploring the significance of the Yin Yang symbol. Traditionally this is a time for lighting bonfires and staying up all night to see the sun rise. Either way make sure you celebrate the longest day and the shortest night of the year!

How do you plan to live the second half of the year?

I will not live an unlived life. I will not live in fear of falling or catching fire. I choose to inhabit my days, to allow my living to open me, to make me less afraid, more accessible, to loosen my heart. Until it becomes a wing, a torch, a promise. I choose to risk my significance; to live. So that which came to me as a seed, goes to the next as a blossom and that which came to me as a blossom, goes on as a fruit.

Love is Letting Go.

Love is Letting Go.

Period.

It’s the Energy of Love that binds This World together. Love is what breathes life into us and gives all living things this chance to be alive.

One of the most Loving things that we’ve been given from our Creator is the gift of choice. Choice is a fundamental part of life. Free will is one of our Creator’s greatest gifts to us.

Free will boils down to this: you can choose to connect to Love, or not.

Since we’ve been given the privilege to choose for ourselves, that means if you Love someone, you must give him or her that privilege. Trying to force or manipulate Love never works – it’ll only backfire.

If you say you Love someone because of what they can give you, that’s not Love, that’s selfishness. When you Love someone, it’s always from a place of overflow rather than lack.

Respecting someone’s free will can be both devastating AND truly rewarding. When you let people go to decide for themselves, they may choose things that don’t match up with your desires. There have been many times in my own life where this has happened, both in business and in my personal life.

But every time this shattering of illusion has happened, it’s brought me closer to the Truth. AND it’s brought me closer to Love.

At the same time, when you let go and honor someone’s free will there is also the possibility that they will choose you; and when that happens you have begun to plant very strong roots for a relationship.

Love is letting go because no one feels Loved when they are controlled or manipulated. No one really feels Loved when they can sense that someone is trying to take from them instead of give.

There is a difference between taking and receiving. It’s sooooo important to be able to receive Love. But to try to drain others of their Love isn’t Loving – it’s being an emotional vampire.

All this can be flipped and applies to YOU, too. You deserve to be with someone who Loves you right where you are. You deserve someone who is so connected to Love that they have the confidence to let you choose for yourself. You deserve to be in relationships where people are sharing from overflow rather than trying to be emotional vampires.

Choose to hang with people who give you the respect to let you decide. And at the same time give those you Love this same respect.

Remember, you are always provided for. The Journey and The Energy of Love are always with you. Ask to feel Love’s presence and you will be filled – not by someone else, but by Your Journey.

Tell yourself, “Love is letting go. I am ok. Love is letting go. I am full as I am. Love is letting go. The perfect Love will find me. Love is letting go, so I let go and let Love decide”.

Letting Go of Being Right

Life has taught me that if I want to rise, I have to get over myself.

This seems to be a constant lesson in my life. They say that EGO is (E)dging (G)od (O)ut. Whether you believe in God or not, it doesn’t matter. Another word for God is Love. So EGO could be perceived as choosing fear over love, or self-importance over humility.

I believe that the only free will we truly have is to choose to connect with Love or not. If we choose to connect with Love, life turns upside down at first, but starts to smooth out. If we don’t choose to connect with Love, we experience our own personal version of “Hell on Earth”.

One of the ways I have experienced my own personal “Hell on Earth” in the past was not being able to admit when I was in the wrong. My prideful EGO used to just hang on to being right at any cost. On the surface I couldn’t stand the thought of being wrong, it was “ME” after all. You know what I’m talking about, that voice in your head that thinks it’s all-important. We all have one; I’m just being courageous or silly enough to admit I have one. But thankfully, that voice is MUCH dimmer now.

Wayne Dyer once said, “It’s more important to be kind than to be right.” When I first heard this statement, I thought he must be wrong. But as I have come to find out, KINDNESS is always right.

Have you ever wanted so badly to win an argument in a relationship, but what you come to find out later is that your stubborn desire to win that argument actually ended the relationship? Oops. Yup, I’ve done that.

Today, no matter what that pesky ego says, choose kindness over being right. Choosing kindness is the same thing as choosing to connect to Love. End your inner conflicts and let go of the need to be right. This may feel like you are giving up some very important point of view and that you have “lost” a battle or debate. But, my friend, what you will see and what I have come to see, is that when you lose the ego battle, you win the battle of the Heart. You trade stress in for peace of mind.

So, let’s allow ourselves to lose the ego battle today. Even though our egos don’t want us to, let’s choose kindness over being right. You won’t die, even if it feels like you might. But you will find peace. Try it. Let me know how it goes…

When the Going Gets Tough… Look for Faith!

Keep the faith. Just keep it.

Holding firm in your belief about the life you want and taking action from that place creates miracles. The ride may be rocky. Times may sometimes be tough.

Things might not always work out the way you want them to, but if you keep the faith that your ideal scene in life is possible and never give up, soon enough it will come around to you.

There is always hope. When you want to give up, when all seems lost, when there seems to be no reason to keep going – THIS MOMENT – is the moment to press on ONE more day. It is those who press on beyond the low points in life that push through that barrier of resistance into a seemingly magical world.

Faith is where it begins. Acting on your faith is how it happens. You do not have faith if you stop believing when things go wrong. The depth of your faith is tested when things go wrong.

You can’t say you really have faith if you give up when things get tough. That’s not real faith, that’s pretend faith. Someone who has true faith in themselves and on This Journey will press on no matter what the circumstances are.

There is no challenge too small for someone who is rooted in faith. There is no time that is too hard, because those with faith keep their ideal outcome in mind and know that they are stronger than their circumstances.

It’s a well known fact that faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains. If money is tight, if no one believes in your dreams, if you just want to give up, remember you have a GIGANTIC TRUST FUND of faith that you can use.

Get busy spending your faith every day; it can never run out. Your dreams are real. Take action to make it so. Don’t give up. Just press on one day at a time – the dawn will break, my friend, the dawn WILL break!

Helping Live Your Dreams

When it comes to personal growth, there are so many topics, ideas, systems, thoughts and paths to choose. Eventually, they will all lead back to this one Truth: what you are seeking is within you.

In my life, I have had three major revelations that have helped me step out of thoughts of fear and lack and step into a life of greater & greater abundance.

Here they are:

1. Your Path will support you in manifesting your Purpose because It created you to do so.

2. Love is where you come from and It is your birthright. It is a basic principle to Love your Creator, Love yourself and Love your fellow beings with the same Love that you have for yourself.

3. Things always workout for the best.

By slowly realizing these principles above, my life has gone from itty-bitty tiny to huge.

If it’s true that the Path will support me in my purpose, then that means any thoughts I have and actions I do that are not aligned with my purpose are actually making my life harder, more stressful and less full. All those fearful thoughts of lack, all those doubting thoughts about whether I will be taken care of or not, have never proved to be true. What I had to do was sacrifice my ego’s desires and let go of any past identity of what I thought I “deserved” and instead, accept the gifts of my journey. From fragile beginnings the roots of my journey have begun to support a stronger hold on Life.

This will be the same for you. You WILL be supported, not in the way that you want to be, but in the way that you NEED to be.

If it’s true that Love is where you came from and that you gotta love your fellow beings the way you love yourself, it’s important that you love yourself; because if you hate yourself, then that means you’ll hate your neighbors, too. So it’s vitally important that you get to work on loving you. Eventually as you grow in the Love for yourself, you will be more and more full, and be able to share that love with others.

If you believe that things always work out for the best, then this will give you an empowered point of view through which to interpret the events of your life. When things go “wrong”, you’ll know it’s for the best and then make the best of it. This point of view is sooooo important to incorporate into your life. If you do, you will be able to overcome any challenge. And challenges will come on Your Path.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on these principles; they have helped me through good times and bad times. I believe if you incorporate them into your life, they will help you live your dreams, too.

What is Grace

Grace has been on my mind a lot lately.

There are many definitions of Grace. The one that jumps out at me is two simple words, “a reprieve”.

That is to say that Grace is a phenomenon on This Journey that, even when we make all kinds of mistakes, when we mess up, when we fall down, we are given a reprieve from our mistakes.

I believe that the energy that runs This World is Love. So, a way to capture this idea is to say that it is by the Grace of the Love of My Journey that I can mess up time and time again and still make it through life happy and fulfilled. We were born to learn and tune into to this Love energy.

I can’t tell you how many mistakes I have made. Everything from thinking food, drugs and alcohol were the solution to my unhappiness, to thinking my own self-importance (aka Ego) was more important than the well-being of my fellow peers.

If this were an un-Loving World, then putting my ego first, trying to fill myself up with things other than Love and many other mistakes, would have meant that I would have been doomed to a life of sadness, loneliness and never being fulfilled.

But as I began to turn my thoughts towards Love (of my Creator, of myself and of my family and friends), towards being of service and towards solving the problems of others, life began to change. And it was THROUGH making the mistakes that I learned that there was another way.

It was the pain (at sometimes BIG pain) that eventually led me down a path of wisdom. And I was a stubborn student. I had to be brought right to the brink to finally change my ways.

I believe it was by Grace that I met people when I did, who handed me the books, or said the words that I needed to hear in that exact moment. It was Grace that kept me alive through my own foolishness as a young woman. It was Grace that helped make my life what it is today. There is NO WAY I could have done all these things by myself.

To me, Grace is the Love of our Journey in action and it is something that ALL of us can receive simply because we are all children of This World. Grace is a force that exists, not because we always get it perfect; Grace exists for us in spite of the fact that we don’t get it perfect.

I’ve found that Grace has touched my life in increasing amounts, as I take my eyes off of myself and turn towards focusing on Love. It’s almost as if there is a current of wind that is Grace and it is by setting the sail of Love that we can catch it’s current.

No matter what you’re going through, no matter what has happened in the past, I strongly believe that Grace is available to you if you simply turn from your, thoughts of fear and ego to thoughts of Love. Your Journey wants you to be happy. Can you say the same thing about yourself?

I hope that wherever you are, Grace touches your life today and that you can love yourself as much as Your Path loves you.
